Metalcraft acquires assets of Jordan Manufacturing

Stainless Metalcraft (Metalcraft), part of Avingtrans PLC’s Process Solutions and Rotating Equipment (PSRE) division, has strengthened its position in the nuclear supply chain with the acquisition of the trade and selected assets of Jordan Manufacturing.

Jordan Manufacturing, previously part of Redhall Group, went into administration on 17 June with the loss of 65 jobs at its facility in Yate, Bristol. A specialist in the manufacture and fabrication of bespoke equipment in carbon steel and complex alloys, it supplied components to Hinckley Point C, among other nuclear, industrial and oil & gas customers, and will now be integrated into Metalcraft’s operations in Chatteris, Cambridgeshire.

Austen Adams, managing director of Avingtrans’ PRSE division, said:

“I’m really pleased we’ve been able to complete this deal, which follows hot on the heels of our acquisition of steel door manufacturer Booth Industries in June this year.

The acquisition strengthens Metalcraft’s position as a key player in the nuclear supply chain and is part of our mission to develop the business as a global leader in high-value, niche engineering sectors.”

It was previously owned by Redhall Group plc, which was placed into administration on 10 June 2019, and was acquired from Christopher Petts and Sarah O’Toole of Grant Thornton UK LLP, who are acting for Redhall Group.
