The 8th Cockermouth Guides are the latest beneficiaries of the Metalcraft Cockermouth Community Fund, having secured £300 towards the costs of new equipment for the unit.

Chris Duggan, managing director of Metalcraft, said: “The Guides play a valuable role in local communities up and down the country and we’re delighted to be able to support the 8th Cockermouth troup by providing funding for new equipment.

“The Metalcraft Cockermouth Community Fund was set up to give something back to the local communities in which we work, donating £500 per quarter to worthy community causes. The deadline for applications for the next round of funding – the last of 2024 – will close on 31st December and I’d encourage any community group with a specific funding need to get in touch.”
