AWE: Vacuum chambers

SMC were selected for the manufacture and test of a High Integrity Vacuum Chamber for AWE. SMC have a long-standing relationship with Cambridge Vacuum Engineering (CVE), with many reciprocal projects over the past 20 years.

The contract comprised Design for Manufacture (DfM) and Advanced Manufacturing Prototyping and Trials using Machining and Fabrication Techniques. The Prototype was designed and then manufactured in accordance with DWE11/08 & PD5500 category 1, for unfired pressure vessels. We have completed the design verification and manufactured the Chamber
