As a welder fabricator, you will be responsible for joining different metals using a variety of techniques. Duties may include cutting and welding materials according to technical drawings, occasional  tests may be required depending on client requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Various aspects of welding & fabrication
• Interpret engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
• General mechanical skills
• Ensure production timings are met
• Create specific weldment set- ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements
• Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards
• Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified
• Rework and/or repair welded parts and products according to engineering specification changes.
• Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
• Prioritize work flow through effective communication with management staff
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

This challenging role will include, but not be limited to:

• Working in conjunction with internal and external Customers to establish a successful stability assessment for production line.
• Analysis of internal quality reporting & data producing an improvement programme to reduce COPQ.
• Perform process capability studies.
• Assist in Supplier control (audits & assessments).
• Identify and resolve failures and nonconformities
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently.
• Own and manage the QMS and introduce an audit programme
• Overall responsibility for management of the QMS
• Developing an internal auditing programme and conducting audits

To inspect machined products to ensure compliance with specifications for high integrity, mission critical products for a broad range of high technology business sectors.

Responsibility for inspection of:

• Dimensional acceptance of machined components using standard and specialised equipment:
  • In-process inspection
  • First Article Inspection (FAI)
  • Final inspection
  • Goods Inwards
• Raising defect reports
• Verification of CAD models

Inspection processes to be used:

• Conventional measuring equipment - verniers, micrometres, depth gauges etc.
• 3D scanners and probes
• Metrology software – VX Elements and Metrolog

Familiar with:

• Management systems ISO9001 / ISO45001
• Operation of 3D scanning machine
• Operation of CMM machine
• Operation of Creaform machine
• Use of VX Elements
• Use of Metrology

To inspect welded products to ensure compliance with specifications for high integrity, mission critical products for a broad range of high technology business sectors.

Responsibility for inspection of:

• Materials received into the company for material composition and dimensional compliance
• Welded items
• Tacked up items
• Dimensional acceptance of fabricated components using standard and specialised equipment:
  • In-process inspection
  • Goods Inwards
• Raising defect reports

Non-destructive Inspection processes to be used:

• Radiographic Testing (RT)
• Weld Inspection (VT)
• Magnetic particle Testing (MPT)
• Penetrant Testing (PT)
• Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
• Dye penetrant testing (DPI)
• Visual
