To mark a year of the fund, Metalcraft held a celebration event 18th January 2018 at the Chatteris Conservative Club, the evening was a great success with speakers from organisations that had been successful. 

From 1st Feb 2018 the funding was increased to £750 per quarter/£3000 per year and the area was extended to include not only the PE16 postcode, but the surrounding villages of Benwick, Doddington, Manea and Wimblington, launch evenings were held in all of these villages during March 2018 with all charitable organisations invited along to find out what it was all about.

  • Chatteris Kingfishers Swimming club: Full funding for the purchase of new kit which will include the Metalcraft logo
  • Lionel Walden Primary School, Doddington: Funding for half of the cost to supply books for a Community Reading project  
  • Chatteris Town Council: Apprentices will assist with the manufacture of the signage for the new museum

  • St Peters Tennis Club - apprentices to make new gates for the club. They will meet with the tennis club to design, discuss schedule & materials
  • Youths of Fenland - assistance with setting up a youth club for 11-18 year olds in Chatteris

  • This quarters Community Fund allowance was donated entirely to Chatteris foodbank due to COVID-19

  • Glebelands PTA - funds for new lunch trolleys for the local primary school

  • Doddington Under 5's -  new toys and sensory area for the group
  • Little Acre Pocket Park - support and money donated to help with individual projects such as stakes for tree and gravel for easy maintenance
  • Doddington Village Sports & Carnival - apprentices to manufacture signs to advertise the carnival locally

  • Royal British Legion Womens - money donated for the purchase of a new printer

  • Fenland Road Safety Campaign – money pledged for an application for a safety barrier along the 16 foot river
  • RAF Memorial fund – apprentices manufactured a memorial plaque
  • Manea Strikers FC – kit sponsorship

Quarter 1 - 19

  • Sparta Amateur boxing club – money donated for the purchase of two sets of gloves and headguards
  • Wimblington Parkfield Jets Netball Club – kit sponsorship
  • Chatteris Midsummer festival – money donated for a mobile farm at the festival

  • Manea primary school – money donated for the purchase of library books
  • Wimblington Bowls Club – apprentices manufactured a ramp for the mower, and an attachment for the lawn roller
  • Chatteris Museum Children’s Club – Metalcraft agreed to carry out printing and donate paper for the running of the club
  • Fenland Music Centre Association – Metalcraft donated money for the hire of the venue for a musical showcase

  • Doddington 1st scouts – apprentices manufactured a fire pit
  • Chatteris Community defibrillator – money donated to purchase defibrillator cabinet
  • Chatteris Cricket Club – money donated towards the prucahse of a mobile batting net
  • Benwick Street Pride – apprentices manufactured stands for historical signage around the village
  • Chatteris DHS – money donated towards timing devices for the homing pigeons

  • Benwick Forget me not club – money donated for Christmas celebration evening

  • Chatteris museum – apprentices manufactured brackets to display old public house signs
  • Thomas Eaton PTFA – apprentices manufactured a commemorative plaque marking their centenary and a time capsule which the children filled and buried.
  • Doddington Recreation Committee – money donated for the purchase of a book scraper

  • Chatteris Town Council – apprentices manufactured planters for display outside of the council offices
  • Chatteris Fen tigers – money donated for kit sponsorship

Quarter 2-17

  • Chatteris Christmas Lights – apprentices made a wheelchair ramp for the lights storage facility
  • Chatterbox baby & toddler group – money donated towards a summer outing for the children
  • Ormiston Families – money donated towards family fun days
  • Royal British legion youth – money donated for the purchase of t-shirts
  • Rotary international – apprentices involved in the manufacture of a new sleigh for Father Christmas

  • Royal British Legion – Metalcraft apprentices re-painted the railings around the war memorial in the centre of Chatteris;
  • Chatteris Community Project – Underpass; Money was donated towards the purchase of the paint, and Metalcraft apprentices painted an undercoat layer on the underpass
